The purpose of this optical system was to create an asymmetrical T3 distribution pattern, ensuring excellent visual comfort while eliminating glare and the visibility of individual LEDs

Features
  • Excellent visual comfort
  • Non-visible LEDs
  • T3 Distributions
  • No-backlight

Challenges

The principal challenge involved the efficient collection and transfer of luminous flux

Solution

The solution was achieved through the principles of maximum concentration, collection and transfer associated with non-imaging optics systems. This involved the design of collimators tailored to acceptance angles for optimal transfer in a CEC/CPC configuration, as well as the faceted design of an external reflector (not shown in the images). The reflector was optimized to produce intensity levels that remained below the maximum thresholds established for visual discomfort, evaluated using a test point methodology analogous to that used for automotive headlamp assessments
