T4 8-Optics

This optic was designed to achieve a T4 distribution for high luminous flux and low mounting heights, ensuring compliance with the specified lighting criteria  for Outdoor areas

Challenges

Given the optic was intended for use with high luminous flux and a low mounting height, the main challenge was to avoid a central hotspot while achieving a uniform light distribution.

Solution

The solution was to design the optic with a lower refractive index. This choice, while resulting in a slightly larger lens, was fundamental to controlling internal reflection at critical angles. As a result, it prevented stray light from negatively impacting uniformity and glare control.
